Lakshmi Baskets
Shri Krishna Puja 2026

US Quilt Embroidery 2026
Jai Shri Mataji!
As Shri Krishna Puja in Canajoharie approaches, we are joyfully beginning the preparations for the Lakshmi Baskets that will be offered at Shri Mataji’s Holy Lotus Feet in Canajoharie. These baskets are a beautiful expression of our collective love, creativity, and gratitude, continuing the tradition followed in previous years. (We may want to emphasize that these items offered are hand-made.)
The Lakshmi Basket tradition
In this tradition, married ladies prepare beautifully decorated baskets or trays filled with Lakshmi items that reflect beauty, purity, and auspiciousness. Over time, it has become a cherished opportunity for each collective to offer something heartfelt on behalf of their nation. (Lakshmi baskets are made by men, women, and children of all ages. We may want to leave out: "Married ladies." Mother mentioned that hand-made items carry vibrations and those vibrations spread. Especially items with carvings have many vibrations.
For this year’s Lakshmi Basket offering from the USA, we will collectively prepare a cross‑stitch embroidery quilt featuring each state's flowers and birds. This quilt will be the main collective contribution from the US and will be used in Shri Mataji's house in NJ as part of the Lakshmi Baskets.
We will send the cross‑stitch kits to each state. Please add your details in the shared Excel sheet so we can ship the materials to you. Kindly return the completed cross‑stitch embroidery pieces by the end of July (fully complete) so there is enough time to assemble the quilt.
The cost for sending the kit will be $50. Payment arrangements will be made after we receive your contact information.
To ensure enough time to assemble the completed quilt, please return the completed cross‑stitch embroidery work by July 31st to the following address:
